
Palak Saag (Curried Spinach)
A simple, tasty, and healthy way to eat spinach!
Ingredients
- 4 cups Spinach leaves
- 1/4 cup Water for boiling spinach
- 1/2 teaspoon Salt
- 1/2 teaspoon Cumin
- 1 pinch Asafoetida
- 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric
- 1 teaspoon Coriander Powder
- 2 tablespoon Ghee or oil
- 1 small piece Ginger (optional)
- 1 small piece Green chili (optional)
Steps
Clean and wash the spinach leaves and boil in water for a couple of minutes in a pan/instant pot/pressure cooker.

After boiling, the spinach will reduce a lot. Let the spinach cool.

Grind the boiled spinach once it has cooled and make a paste.

Finely chop the ginger and green chili.

In a pan, heat ghee/oil on medium flame.

Add asafoetida, cumin seeds, coriander powder, and turmeric powder in this order.
Mix the spices in the ghee and roast for a few seconds on low flame

(Optional) Add chopped ginger and green chili.

Add the blended spinach paste and salt to the spices in the pan and let it simmer for a minute.

The palak ka saag is ready to serve and eat!
Enjoy with rice or any type of flatbread!
